No threat to UK nuclear power as a result of Fukushima

The Chief Inspector of the UK's nuclear inspectorate has pronounced UK nuclear power still safe

According to BBC News science and environment, chief inspector Mike Weightman says that the UK nuclear industry reacted "responsibly and appropriately" to the crisis at Japan's Fukushima site, "displaying strong leadership for safety and a strong safety culture."  By way of response, Energy and Climate Secretary Chris Huhne remains committed "to continue to remove the barriers to nuclear new build in the UK."
