National HE STEM Programme Museums Project

The National HE STEM Programme, working with science museums in Birmingham and Leicester, is developing a unique facility to provide exciting, interactive facilities where learners, teachers, parents and career guidance professionals can explore ‘the journey’ from school to higher education and into the workforce.  We need your help to ensure that this exhibit is relevant and useful, meeting your individual needs.

Role model recruitment

Thank you for your interest in providing information about careers information that is important to you, whether you are looking for help or advising on what to do after GCSE/’A’ Level or university/further education.

Preparing young people for the future is a monumental and very complex task.  How do they make choices and decisions about:

What subjects to study

Do I stay at school beyond 16?

Is going to university an option for me?

If I study maths, for example, what use will it be to me when I look for a job?

Do I want/need to go to university and if so which will provide what I need?

Where do I get up to date, impartial advice about what is available to me?

The Government is making substantial investment in various initiatives, including this Programme, to help young people tackle some of these issues, to help them get the most out of their education and to encourage them, as the workforce of the future, to study science, technology, engineering and mathematics which can lead to amazing and rewarding jobs which also meet the everyday needs of all of us, whether for sustainable travel or energy resources; buildings of all kinds; and security or beauty products.

The questionnaire should take you no more than 10 minutes to complete.
